Featured Video #28 (Signs of Forgiveness)

This video is a good reminder of what is a core principle of our faith: forgiveness.

Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so also you must forgive.
Colossians 3:13 CSB

…be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.
Ephesians 4:32 CSB

For if you forgive people their wrongdoing, your heavenly Father will forgive you as well.
Matthew 6:14 CSB

Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how many times could my brother sin against me and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” “I tell you, not as many as seven,” Jesus said to him, “but 70 times seven.”
Matthew 18:21-22 CSB

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you your wrongdoing.
Mark 11:25 CSB

Featured Video #27 (A Man Called Jon trailer)

A Man Called Jon looks like a fun church dramedy. It also happens to star my brother-in-law, Christian Heep (www.christianheep.com).

Here’s a description of the film:

“A Man Called Jon” is a light-hearted dramedy about Pastor Jon Terrell Carson’s unusual style of worship. Jon’s church is very traditional and is not accustomed to outbursts during service.

One day after embarrassing the church along with his family, Senior Pastor Stannum decides to reach out to the Bishop requesting that Jon be assigned to a church more suited to his style of praise. Jon and his family find themselves at an African American Church, where he is confronted by Associate Pastor Dickens, who later informs him that he was sent to the wrong church due to a mix-up in paperwork.

Jon is moved to his third church where he again struggles to fit in. Will Jon be able to control his celebration or will he be moved for a fourth time?”

New Star Wars Clip (Featured Video #26)

Here’s a short clip that shows of Finn (John Boyega) going toe to toe with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).

Featured Video #25 (Inventing Children’s Church)

There is a little known tug o’ war occurring within the faith community as to whether or not Children’s Church is the best way to educate our children. Some argue that a family integrated church works better because children actually see their parents worshiping and learning.

This video pokes fun at one side of the argument.

Although I do not agree with their stance, I think this video is a good discussion starter.
