Featured Video #17 (Son of God Trailer)

The Son of God opens on February 18th, 2014.

It’s an expansion of Mark Burnett and Roma Downey’s 10-hour miniseries, The Bible. The film explores Jesus’ life from birth to resurrection, but also features some scenes (and deleted scenes) from The Bible.

Watch the trailer here:

It will be interesting to see if this movie can distinguish itself from Mel Gibson’s highly successful Passion of the Christ. Although I celebrate any attempt to get the message of the Gospel into the theater, I still cannot help but wonder why Jesus  always has a British accent, and why (perhaps my biggest pet peeve) he always has long hair.

See http://gospelgeeks.net/ten-misconceptions-about-jesus-01-jesus-appearance/ for an explanation concerning Jesus’ hair.

Nonetheless, I look forward the film.  I like the last line of the trailer, which acts as a double entendre:

“I am coming, soon!”
