It’s time to reread our governing documents

I have made it a habit to reread  the founding documents of this great country each year on the 4th of July.

There are, of course, many places online to find the The Mayflower Compact, The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and The Gettysburg Address.

The official government archives are a good place to start:

Whether you are a Democrat, a Republican, Green Party, or Libertarian, will you join me this year in reading some of the most profound words ever written?

“The strength of the Constitution lies entirely in the determination of each citizen to defend it. Only if every single citizen feels duty bound to do his share in this defense are the constitutional rights secure.”  Albert Einstein

“Don’t interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties.” Abraham Lincoln
