Two Free E-Books (Beth Moore and RC Sproul)

Start your new year with two free E-Books!

First, get R.C. Sproul’s John: In The Beginning Was the Word and the Word was God.

From R.C. Sproul’s Amazon page:

Dr. Sproul, a respected seminary teacher, conference speaker, and author, long saw his role in full-time Christian ministry as centered on the task of teaching. But in 1997, God placed him in the position of preaching weekly at St. Andrew’s in Sanford, Florida. There, he adopted the ancient Christian practice of lectio continua, or continuous expositions, the method of preaching verse-by-verse through books of the Bible (rather than choosing a new topic each week). Since taking up this task at St. Andrew’s, Dr. Sproul has preached through several books of the Bible, including the Gospel of John.

Encouraged by his congregation at St. Andrew’s, Dr. Sproul has now begun to adapt these sermon series for a wider audience. The result is the St. Andrew’s Expositional Commentary,  which is being jointly published by Reformation Trust Publishing and Crossway Books.

In John, Dr. Sproul confesses that he attained a new depth of understanding of the Gospel when he preached through the book. Nevertheless, he came to the Gospel after much study of it, and that familiarity is readily apparent from the first chapter on the Prologue of John’s Gospel to the final chapter on Peter’s restoration.

Second, get Beth Moore’s When Godly People do Ungodly Things.

From Beth Moore’s Amazon page:

It is reported in the headlines, confessed in the pulpits, and hidden in the pews in churches around  the world. The seduction of God’s people by the deceiver is a tale as old as the garden, but we are always surprised when it happens. We must realize that Satan is a lion on the prowl and we are his prey.

Beth writes with a passion fueled by the Biblical warnings of the schemes of Satan’s seductive activity and the broken-hearted concern of a teacher who receives countless letters from repentant Christians limping on the road to finding restoration. Delivering dire warnings to Christians to safeguard themselves against Satan’s attacks, Beth also reveals how you can know if someone is vulnerable. Beth writes, “We, Christ’s church, are in desperate need of developing His heart and mind in issues like these.” She fears that often God is far more merciful than the Body of Christ is with the deeply repentant and those desperate to find their way home. When Godly People Do Ungodly Things will be a guide to authentic repentance and restoration.
